Information regarding joining and renewal

Boats allowed in the club, at the discretion of the Safety Officer, must be of GRP construction and of a length which allows safe use on the river for turning, the wake produced, and mooring space required. PWC's are not allowed on the water. All boats must be fitted with a jack plug ie engine quick release shut off. On board should be a First Aid Kit, Fire Extinguisher and a working horn/siren/audible warning device. At all times when towing, a competent observer, in addition to the driver must be in the boat.
All Boats are scrutineered at the beginning of the ski season ie March to April to ensure that the boat is safe for waterskiing and complies with club standards. A boat owner will be issued a TPSC river licence allowing use of the club zones when the items listed below are in place. Anyone applying to join the club as a boat owning member will first have the boat checked by the Club Safety Officer to ensure that it complies to Club standards. The Membership Secretary deals with all renewals and new appications.

  1. Boat Insurance(Euromarine Ins are the clubs preferred insurer)
  2. Canal & River Trust Licence(Explorer or Full Year)
  3. Boat safety certificate(Not needed if boat has outboard engine)
  4. TPSC Scrutineering pass certificate
  5. All fees paid
The club has the following membership catergories:-

  1. Family Boat Owning Member(Husband & Wife including their children under 19 years of age)
  2. Individual Boat owning Member(Single person responsible for ensuring He/She has a responsible crew)
  3. Associate Member(Non boat owning)
  4. Junior Member(Junior under 19 years)
  5. Day Member(Able to ski for one day and drive a boat if a boat driving test has been passed)
